Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP-PA) Contract Position Location New York State
Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Description We are seeking a New York State licensed Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP-PA) to cover a Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) at our main hospital location. This role involves performing gross examinations, handling a variety of specimens, and collaborating with a dedicated staff of pathologists and histotechs.
Responsibilities Cut and stain frozen sections and prepare tissues for histological processing.
Perform gross examination and dissection of large and complex specimens, including breast and renal cores.
Triage fresh tissue for lymphoma work-ups and identify glomeruli.
Review patient clinical information, including scans, X-rays, and lab results.
Collaborate with a team of 4 pathologists and 6 histotechs to ensure high-quality laboratory services.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Current New York State Pathologists' Assistant License.
ASCP - PA certification.
1+ year of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting.
Proficiency in Epic charting system.
Experience handling breast resections, uterus, lung, and colon resections.
