This position is for a nursing role in a progressive care unit primarily focused on adult patients. The unit specializes in the care of patients recovering from traumatic injuries typically requiring surgical intervention. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5 as needed. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring for a significant number of patients. Patients in this unit are generally hemodynamically stable, and may include individuals with serious injuries. Nurses will manage a variety of specialized procedures and care protocols. Candidates must be proficient in accessing and managing medical equipment and responding to emergency situations. Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage intravenous therapy. Additional skills related to patient assessment and wound care are crucial for this position.
