New General Café & Coffee Bar | Winter Park, FLNew General is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Kitchen Line / Prep Cook to join our growing kitchen team.
We are a health-forward café committed to creating high-quality, house-made food using thoughtful ingredients. This position plays an important role in both daily food preparation and line execution, helping ensure every dish that leaves our kitchen is consistent, fresh, and beautifully prepared.
Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep according to recipes and production lists.
Work the kitchen line during service, preparing menu items accurately, efficiently, and consistently.
Maintain quality and consistency across all menu items.
Ensure food is prepared and served within established ticket times.
Set up, stock, and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Assist with opening and closing kitchen responsibilities.
Properly label, date, rotate, and store all food products.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
Communicate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Help minimize food waste and communicate product shortages or low inventory.
Support the kitchen team wherever needed during busy service periods.
Previous kitchen, line cook, or prep experience preferred.
Strong understanding of food preparation and kitchen safety.
Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

At New General, we believe healthy dining can improve the way communities eat. Our menu focuses on familiar, house-made dishes created with thoughtful, high-quality ingredients.We never use seed oils or cane sugar and prioritize organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
We are looking for someone who cares about quality, takes pride in their work, and understands that consistency, communication, and urgency are essential to a successful kitchen.
