ROOM ATTENDANT

Full Time – Columbia, SC, US

Hourly hotel housekeeper at Courtyard by Marriott Columbia Northeast, a 5‑star award‑winning hotel.

Essential Responsibilities

Clean guest rooms and stock supplies following prescribed procedures; duties include picking up trash, changing linen, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and dusting rooms, and cleaning windows/balconies.

Retrieve, stock, restock and store the housekeeping cart according to safety procedures.

Receive assigned section keys, supplies and prioritize room requests from the Senior Housekeeper; return keys and unused supplies at shift end.

Respond to guest requests and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner.

Report missing articles, damages or mechanical problems to the Senior Housekeeper.

Non‑Essential Functions

Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor on work priorities and provide assistance when needed.

Qualifications

Education: No formal education required.

Experience: Prior housekeeping experience desirable.

Skills: Must communicate in English, clean rooms during an eight‑hour shift, be self‑starting with an even disposition, meet appearance standards, and communicate well with guests.

Physical Demands

Constant bending, kneeling, and standing while cleaning rooms, moving supplies, and operating cleaning equipment.

Allows up to 40 steps during the week; no rail climbing required.

Work Environment

Mostly indoors during an 8‑hour shift. Outdoor time is minimal.

No driving required.
