Summary/Primary Purpose
To answer incoming phone calls, greet incoming clients/visitors and assist them with a variety of community services provided at our Corps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet all incoming clients/visitors in a friendly professional manner.
Answer phone calls in pleasant, courteous manner.
Make appointments as needed.
Responsible for accurate written messages.
Provide referral paperwork to incoming clients seeking assistance.
Assist the Administrative Assistant with any upcoming projects/mailings.
Provide potential community services assistance to all clients/visitors.
Determines preliminary eligibility of clients both on and off phone through our data entry program.
Assist with miscellaneous tasks, such as; laundry, cleaning, filing, shredding.
All other assigned duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED. Some secondary education preferred. Minimum of 1 year of related experience in reception, telephone work, or data processing preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Ability to work with people of varying backgrounds and cultures with patience and respect.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with little supervision.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. As well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Working Conditions: The work environment is a business office setting with office equipment, moderate traffic and noise levels.
