The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor provides counseling, education, and structured support services to individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role facilitates group counseling sessions, supports treatment planning, and assists clients in developing the skills needed for long-term recovery and stability.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, and experienced in addiction treatment, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support clients in a structured clinical environment.

Support development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
Provide relapse prevention education and recovery-focused skill building
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, facility policies, and regulatory standards
Work closely with therapists, case managers, nurses, and medical staff
Support discharge planning and continuity of care
Promote a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment

Experience working in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment or behavioral health settings
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience in residential, outpatient, IOP, or PHP programs
Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Bilingual abilities (a plus)

20 – $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
