Human Resources Specialist (Classification) Hiring Agency: Space Force Service Wide Support Activities
Key Responsibilities The United States Space Force (USSF) Directorate of Civilian Policy and Programs (S1C) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado is searching for a Classification Specialist (NH-0201-03, GS 12/13 equivalent). Description: Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will help structure organizations to best support the mission in a stable, highly collaborative environment where your expertise is genuinely valued.
As a Human Resources Specialist (Classification), you will apply extensive classification expertise and deep knowledge of federal classification standards, laws, and OPM guidelines across GS, FWS, DCIPS, Lab Demo, and AcqDemo frameworks to deliver accurate, defensible, and consistent classification decisions.
The ideal candidate for this Human Resources Specialist (Classification) role is a seasoned expert in federal position classification and strategic position management who possesses hands‑on experience navigating GS, FWS, DCIPS, Lab Demo, and AcqDemo pay systems to resolve complex, high-grade classification issues.
Knowledge of the full range of federal HR personnel programs, position classification and position management and a wide range of other federal personnel management laws, regulations, executive orders, functions, theories, concepts, policies, precedents, practices, and techniques and the interrelationship of various personnel disciplines.
Knowledge of the agency's, management's, and installation's objectives, missions, and operating programs and implications on command and/or agency personnel management programs and organizations.
Knowledge of the methods and techniques of fact finding, analysis, qualitative and quantitative evaluation and diagnosis, and the resolution on complex problems to analyze substantive organizational and operational practices and problems and develop concrete action plans to provide appropriate HR recommendations and solutions to management.
Ability to use automated systems to affect personnel actions, change data fields, retrieve data, create reports and queries, utilize email, and operate basic word processing functions.
