Operations Supervisor - Materials Recovery Facility/Transfer Station (MRF)
Manages operations department including day-to-day supervision of operations services.
Shift will be Monday - Friday, 3:30PM-12:00AM.
Arranges alternate coverage of service in case of employee absence or equipment failure.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Monitors work to ensure efficient and effective operations. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of operations, department, or work crew.
Checks incoming and outgoing material for quality standards.
Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and/or shifts.
Identifies all potential rule infractions, submitting information to Operations Manager, assisting in the avoidance and correction of existing cases.
May perform data entry for payroll time records.
Must be able to work any assigned shift.
transportation, production and logistics operations; Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications and programs in position related area including state and federal safety regulations, general occupational safety and commercial vehicle safety management principles, state and federal workers’ compensation laws and administrative procedures.
Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and truck computer systems.
Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and using data to inform and set priorities and identify challenges/opportunities.
Principles of personnel training, supervision and evaluation.
Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Class "B" Commercial Drivers' License preferred.
Develops strategies to effectively manage current and future challenges and opportunities; Demonstrates ability to use computers and technology capabilities.
Demonstrates strong proficiency and knowledge in area(s) of expertise as well as company business and proficiency in strategic and financial processes.
Listens to and builds customer relationships; increases customer satisfaction and ensures commitments are met.
