Head of Accounting & Compliance

A rapidly expanding organization is seeking a Director to lead technical accounting, revenue recognition, reporting advisory, SOX compliance, and sales & use tax oversight. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the enterprise. The Director will lead a high‑performing accounting team while partnering cross‑functionally to support growth, process improvement, and operational excellence.

Oversee revenue recognition and related cost analyses under ASC 606 and ASC 340‑40

Prepare and review technical accounting memos on complex transactions

Advise leadership on accounting standards and reporting implications

Develop and maintain enterprise accounting policies, procedures, and SOX‑aligned controls

Manage quarterly and annual financial reporting processes

Partner with external auditors on audits and SOX testing

Lead and mentor a team of accounting and tax professionals

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting

Stay current on new accounting standards and assess impacts on financial reporting

Reassess and enhance accounting processes and policies to align with evolving requirements

Participate in special projects and enterprise initiatives as needed

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of experience in technical accounting, revenue recognition, reporting advisory, and SOX compliance

Hands‑on experience with sales & use tax preferred

Proficiency with accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools
