Currently, nearly half of our population is forensically involved. We are seeking a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology to join our dynamic team.As a unit staff psychologist for individuals hospitalized with serious and persistent mental illness, the employee will provide a full range of psychological services focusing on behavior management and modification, including: serving as an integral member of a multidisciplinary treatment team; assess individuals’ psychological stability and needs; leading in the formulation of meaningful treatment plans; providing group and individual therapies; developing and supervising behavioral interventions; conducting and interpreting psychological testing and writing practical, user-friendly reports; conducting forensic mental health evaluations and writing thorough reports for courts and state forensic mental health boards; providing psychological consultation and education to hospital staff; and participating in program development.Training and supervision in forensic psychology (evaluation of competency to stand trial, provision of services to restore competency to stand trial, evaluation of mental status at time of offense, evaluation and treatment of individuals acquitted by reason of insanity) will be provided.
