Parts Counter Sales/Warehouse

Warehouse Parts ClerkThe Warehouse Parts Clerk receives, stores, and distributes parts, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processingRead customer orders, work orders, shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shippedProcesses incoming material and customer ordersReceives and verifies amount of stock or distributes incoming materialMove materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areasReleases backorders and picks required material for processingSort and place parts on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product codeEnsure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer trafficAssemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping departmentPackages materials for shipment and loads onto vehiclePrepares shipping documents and assigns freight chargesAudits storage locations for proper quantity and resolves discrepanciesRecord amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer programSweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all timesWear the proper safety equipment and prepare parcels for mailingPerforms job safely with respect to others, to property and to individual safetyWorks effectively with others in the company to encourage teamwork and productivityRegular attendance is an essential function of the jobPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications & Skills:Ability to recognize and differentiate diesel engine and transmission partsCapable of safely operating a forkliftGood oral and written communication skillsBasic organizational and typing skillsBasic mathematical skillsAnalytical ability where problems are not difficult or complexAbility to read and understand procedures and documents applicable to the jobAbility to work effectively with others using good interpersonal skillsValid Driver License with clear driving recordEducation & Experience:High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.AS400 experience preferred.Previous warehouse experience in a parts departmentForklift certification a plus.Shipping and ReceivingOther Criteria:Complies with Company policies and procedures.Performs job safely with respect to others, property and to individual safety.Works effectively with others in the Company to encourage teamwork and productivity.EEO Statement:Valley and the Valley Power Systems Family of Companies is an equal opportunity employer.
