Estimator Analysis
Marques General Engineering, Inc.
The Estimator reports to the VP of Estimating and contributes to the overall success of the organization by assisting with preparation of cost estimates for assigned projects, participation / responsibility for the preparation of complete bid packages, participating in bid reviews, participation in post-bid estimate analysis and post project award support.
Have a thorough knowledge of the plans, specifications, and all bid documents related to assigned estimates.
Attend pre-bid meetings and job site visits and convey all information and photos obtained to the estimating team.
Perform manual and/or electronic quantity take-offs from project plans, specifications, and standard details.
Document plan revisions, document discrepancies and assist in preparing RFI questions for review by the estimating team and submission to the client.
Review, update and distribute changes to bid scopes / documents with additional bidding information (RFI's, Addendum, Plan updates, etc.) via RFP software and Emails to prospective Subcontractors and Suppliers.
Prepare detailed cost estimates using HCSS HeavyBid Software.
Present prepared estimate to Senior Estimator / VP of Estimating for review to ensure accuracy, completeness and participate in estimate reviews to further develop estimating skills and refine prepared estimates.
Assist with the preparation of formal Bid Forms, Statement of Qualifications and Bid Submission documents.
Ensure that all relevant bid documents are submitted before the bid deadlines.
Develop relationships and communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.
Assisting in Post Bid Award Bid Hand-off preparations including Estimate Coding for HeavyJob, Subcontract summary for Contracts Team and participation in Estimating to Field Operations Hand-off meetings.
High school diploma required; a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in quantity take-off and/or equivalent combination of field experience.
Experience with infrastructure projects including subdivision, roadways, utilities, earthwork, and concrete structures
