Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for a Trauma Level 1 Nurse!
Job Description:

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (4 weekends per month)
• Location: Multiple Facilities (Approx. 30 minutes apart)

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience
• Will consider candidates with less than 2 years of experience
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting; 2 attempts allowed

Floating Policy:
- Must be willing to float between facilities:

• St. Joseph's Main
• St. Joseph's Westgate
• AZ General Laveen
• Free Standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale

Additional Notes:

• Natural hair color and no facial piercings required
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit test
• Day 1 Pass/Fail Exam: Study Guide provided
• SIMs Lab Training required: Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes (specific to areas)
• Expected competencies: maintain sterile field, lifts, restraints, and wound care

Patient Care Details:

• Unit: Emergency Department / Trauma
• Bed Capacity: Acute 36, Subacute 54, Trauma Bays 6
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• EMR: Cerner
• Charge Nurses: 2 RNs with light patient load
• Nurse Aides: 4-PCTs for sitters
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts (discretion of unit)

Common Diagnoses:

• Trauma, Burns, Pediatrics
• Annual Patient Volume: 88,000 (250-300 per day)

Important Policies:

• Cancellation: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 for shorter assignments
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts floor-specific

Required Certifications:

- BLS, ACLS, PALS

- Preferred: TNCC and ATCN (ENPC not accepted as PALS replacement)
