Mental Health LCSW

Responsibilities include: clinical social work evaluations, counseling, monitoring medication side‑effects under the direction of a Psychiatrist, case management, and the implementation of W & I 5150. Additional duties: pre‑release planning, crisis intervention, ongoing caseload maintenance, documentation, triage, consultation, training, education, and referral.

California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences License, Clinical Social Worker license without restrictions.

Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work.

Clinical work experience in a social service or healthcare setting.

Experience in taking psychosocial history and case management evaluations, including interview techniques, suicide assessments, and forensic designations.

Ability to pass and maintain the Sacramento Sheriff Department’s Security Clearance.

Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, as scheduled and assigned.

Good physical health, hearing and speaking ability, and willingness to work under an institutional "No Hostage Policy."

Ability to make appropriate interventions based on law and policy.

Knowledge of child, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating social work practice, e.g., Basic understanding of computer and MS functionality.

Demonstrated awareness of, and sensitivity to, dealings with cultural and socioeconomic diversity.

Basic understanding of community resources.

Knowledge and skills in the areas of individual, group, and family therapy.

Social work experience in a jail or correctional setting highly preferred.

Knowledge of criminal justice system, state hospital system, forensic mental health networks, Probation, Parole, and Department of Corrections highly preferred.

5% - Training, Education & Research

Adult Correctional Mental Health (ACMH) is a satellite contract program of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The program provides mental health services to incarcerated individuals inside the two Sacramento County jails located in downtown Sacramento and in Elk Grove, and Jail Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) and Early Access and Stabilization Services (EASS) to inmates found incompetent to stand trial.

Salary or Pay Range: $53.85-$71.07 (contingent upon the contract with Sacramento County, Adult Correctional Health; the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Sciences will continue to provide an 8% correctional site stipend on an ongoing basis)

10 hour day shift 07:00-17:30

10 hour swing shift 14:30-01:00

12 hour night shift 18:00-06:30
