Temp Buyer (Manufacturing)

The Buyer will place purchase orders for new and existing production materials. May be assigned to purchase non-production items. Control the cost of purchase materials within budget and generate cost reduction action plans.
Attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and develop a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the Company.
Travel will be required to various supplier locations.
Maintain and support company objectives for cost out, inventory turns, and supplier on-time delivery.
Provide vendor performance data for Quarterly Scorecard.
Understand quality assurance philosophies and practices.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Knowledge of accounting software, internet software, inventory software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
Skills in Microsoft Office software including: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Analytical: Collects and researched data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
To be considered for the Buyer role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university
