At The Mather Evanston, housekeeping is about much more than cleaning. As a premier wellness destination, we are dedicated to helping older adults live well through exceptional hospitality, personalized service, and whole-person well-being. As a Housekeeper, you'll play a meaningful role in creating a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, guests, and team members across our Life Centre ( Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Support). In this highly visible role, you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting resident rooms and common areas, changing linens, supporting room turnovers, restocking supplies, maintaining housekeeping equipment and work areas, and helping to uphold infection prevention and safety standards. You'll interact daily with residents, nursing team members, and colleagues throughout the community, making a direct impact on resident comfort, dignity, and quality of life. The ideal candidate has previous housekeeping experience, enjoys working with older adults, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and is committed to creating a warm, hospitality-focused experience through every interaction. This is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To best support our residents and community needs, flexibility to work weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays, is required as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs a variety of tasks which provide and maintain the cleanliness and safety of resident rooms/homes and common areas.
Sanitize, vacuum, dust and perform trash removal, and maintain a clean, stocked housekeeping cart and closet.
Coordinates daily housekeeping services with housekeeping management.
Competently operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical.
Changes bed linens according to established standards.
Recognizes and promptly reports maintenance problems and unsafe acts or conditions.
Notifies supervisor when supplies are low and demonstrates responsibility for the conservation of supplies, chemicals, equipment, and utilities.
Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

~ Ability to read and follow instructions to complete routine tasks and communicate in a friendly, responsive manner.

Preferred:

High school or equivalent.
Previous housekeeping experience.
The hourly base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Hourly Pay Range

$19.75—$21 USD
