Environment Artist (Full-Time)

Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Environment Artist with a passion for game development.

This is a full‑time, in‑office position based out of Rockstar’s development studio in Andover, MA.

The Rockstar Games Environment Art Team creates visual storytelling through the creation of fully realized environments.

We shape the environments and assets that bring the player experience to life.

Build and map a wide range of realistic 3D art that is used to enrich in‑game environments.

Create procedural 2D and 3D art using traditional modeling packages (such as 3dsMax, Maya, Blender, etc.) Work across a wide range of styles and visual targets while maintaining Rockstar’s artistic standards.

Stay informed on the latest technology related to 3D art development.

3+ years of experience as a 3D Artist within gaming or similar industry.

Excellent 3D environment art creation skills and all‑around artistic expertise and flair.

Eagerness to learn new workflows and software tools.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, milestone‑driven environment.

An understanding of physically based materials.

Experience with DCCs like 3dsMax, Adobe Photoshop, or Substance Designer.

Experience with real‑time game engines and toolsets.

Experience with scripting languages like MAXScript or Python.

Portfolios must showcase examples of procedural art generation (including placement of assets and/or full geo asset generation).
