The Security Officer is responsible to positively impact the safety and security of the company assets to include guests and Team Members while maintaining guest satisfaction and support the casino core values. The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all inclusive.

Ensures smooth operation of the Security Department through following prescribed policies and procedures as well as adhering to and enforcing the Responsible Gaming Plan and complying with Internal Control Policies and Procedures.

Responsible for writing reports in a clear and concise manner, noting only factual information without interjection of one’s personal opinion.

Communicates with other security personnel via two-way radios, using established "10-codes".

Ensures quick, fair, and consistent results to customer complaints.

Safeguards property assets.

Adheres to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations, including, but not limited to, Title 31 Cash Transactions, Suspicious Activity Reporting and Customer Identification requirements.

Ensures the integrity of gambling, banking, count room and cash handling procedures.

Responsible for proper handling of confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials.

Responsible for informing Security senior management team of information necessary to the efficient operation of the casino.

Regularly walk and work on feet to complete assigned shifts; Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in staff.

Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Formal security or law enforcement training, schooling or certification is required; related on‑the‑job experience may be considered in lieu of formal training. Previous security, military, or civilian police officer training and/or experience is required. Maintain confidential information.

Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.

Provide a current certificate of completion of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice (DCJS) 8‑Hour Pre‑Assignment Training.

Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.

Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.

Be knowledgeable of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.

Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.

Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
