Piedmont Eastside Medical Center- Emergency Dept

• 38 bed Emergency Department that sees on average 160 patients a day that present with various acuities.
• We are a primary Stroke and Stemi receiving facility that is able to intervene and administer thrombolytics.
• Two helicopter pads on campus for utilization
• Behavioral Health Pod
• We have Charge nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians and Unit Secretaries who work in close collaboration with the ED Providers to provide exceptional care
• All staff members must have a BLS to work in this unit. Working knowledge of venous blood sampling, and cardiac monitor knowledge.

Working knowledge of the bodys systems to include neurological, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, primary and secondary trauma assessment.
Must have strong customer service, interpersonal skills and be able to work with a team. Start IV'S, IO'S & draw blood.
May be required to monitor patients for arrhythmias and report abnormal rhythms and changes immediately to Charge Nurse and Nurse
Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.
Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.

Work Experience
~1 year of experience as a Paramedic Preferred

PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date within 120 Days Required
LP - Licensed Paramedic Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia and National Registry Preferred
