Claims Specialist

Supports the Claims team by evaluating medical claim submissions and processing claims on our systems. Provides customer service to policyholders over the phone.

Evaluate claims based on documentation and provide timely follow‑ups for claims being adjudicated.

Process insurance claims in adherence to company policies and contract provisions in full accordance with the law.

Make decisions and ensure the successful resolution of inquiries and complaints by preparing accurate and timely activity reports.

High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

1–3 years of claims experience preferred.

Solid knowledge of ICD‑9, ICD‑10 or medical coding.

Excellent phone skills and ability to communicate in a friendly and effective manner with customers.

Background in insurance claims preferred in any discipline of Medicare Supplement, Life, Health, Cancer or Disability.

Ability to read and understand policy language.

Understanding of basic medical terminology.

Travel Requirements

This position does not require travel.

Office environment using computers, phones via WebEx, physical phone, and photocopiers as needed.
