MLT - Medical Laboratory

Medical TechnologistWe are seeking a Medical Technologist to join our Quality Laboratory team. As a Medical Technologist, you will perform all assigned tasks following applicable laboratory SOPs, OSHA regulations and cGMP regulations (i.e. blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards). You will perform inventory control tasks of in-process components or products. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing equipment maintenance and/or calibration and temperature monitoring in a timely manner according to applicable procedures.Therefore, if you will require sponsorship from us for work authorization now or in the future, we cannot consider your application at this time.ResponsibilitiesKey AccountabilitiesMonitoring supply inventory and identifying any products requiredInspecting in-coming components for compliance with company specificationsPreparing chemical solutions, reagents, calibrators and/or standards according to laboratory proceduresOperating, cleaning and maintaining department equipment including computers, printers, incubators, centrifuges, mechanical shakers, washing devices, pH meter, analytical balance, spectrophotometer, etc. according to department protocolsAccurately calculating amount of in-process components or products received, used, or rejectedPerforming required statistical analyses of department's processesUnderstanding FDA and ISO standards applicable to the department and consequences of non-conformanceMeeting achievement levels established for competency evaluationFollowing applicable company procedures for the documentation of training of new employeesAssisting the department supervisor and/or manager with investigations, root cause analyses and reports of out-of-specification results and deviationsQualificationsMinimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Life Sciences or other science or technical field or equivalent combination of education and experienceMT(ASCP) or MT(AMT) with 1-3 years of blood banking experience; or MLT(ASCP) or MLT(AMT) with 4-6 years of blood banking experienceStrong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent communication skills both written and verbalIf you are interested in constantly learning and being challenged on a daily basis we encourage you to submit your resume or CV.Werfen strictly prohibits unlawful discrimination, harassment or retaliation based upon an individual's race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin/ancestry, age, mental/physical disability, medical condition, marital status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic as defined by applicable state or federal law.
