Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway Address: 100 Medical Pkwy, Lakeway, TX (Suburb of Austin, TX) Work Schedule: 4-10 Hour shifts - 7:00 - 5:30 with minimal to No Weekend Call Must live within 30 minutes of hospital Lakeway is located about 25 miles west of downtown Austin. Lakeway is a resort community complete with golf courses, tennis courts, marinas, a 65-mile long lake, 100 acres of parkland and trails, and nearly 500 acres of greenbelts. Baylor Scott & White Health Lakeway is a private, non-profit, 131 bed, Full-Service hospital. The Medical Center is a certified primary stroke center, a certified chest pain center. Lakeway has achieved Magnet recognition for its nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care.

• 2 GE fluoroscopy units (soon to be upgraded to Phillips), Siemens biplane system. 12 private room pre/post holding rooms.
• Cardiology- left heart catheterization, PFO closure, STEMI/MI, mechanical device insertions, lithotripsy, thrombectomy, renal stenting, peripheral vascular, PCI. Interventional radiology - kyphoplasty, port-a-cath placements, biopsies, cryoablations, uterine artery embolization, prostate embolization, GI bleed embolization, thrombectomy, percutaneous drain placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, fistulagrams. Electrophysiology - pacemaker, ablation, cryo-ablation, pulse field ablation. Population - varies (adult)

Spacious Procedure rooms and spread out and support the nurse who is circulating and also the Scrub tech, Physician. If they need to bring equipment they have the room. 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for pre/post. Techs rotate modalities and procedures. Lots of opportunities for staff autonomy and facility-based/departmental councils to join. Growth in vascular, neuro and structural cardiovascular procedures. • The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs. The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act. Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing care plan. Evaluates nursing practice quality and effectiveness, including nursing indicators. Participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Incorporates culture, beliefs, gender, race, ethnicity, lifestyle, status, age, and values into a care plan.

Identifies and helps resolve ethical and clinical concerns.

Facilitation of Learning: Facilitates learning for patients, families, nursing staff, health care team, and community. Integrates education throughout care to help them make informed health care recommendations. Includes health promotion and disease prevention. Assesses and documents learning needs and outcomes.

Partnership: Works collaboratively with colleagues and community to create and implement a care plan. Recognizes limited resources and considers safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in planning and delivering patient care.
