Night Shift - Emergency Department (ER) RN

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED)
Location: Syracuse, NY

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Pediatric Emergency Department assignment. This position is ideal for nurses with dedicated Pediatric ED experience who are comfortable working in a high-acuity emergency care environment.
Important: Candidates must have the majority of their recent emergency department experience in a dedicated Pediatric ED. Candidates whose experience is primarily in combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Departments will not be considered. Adult ED experience is a plus when accompanied by substantial Pediatric ED experience.
Schedule

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• 12-hour shifts
• Every Other Weekend Required
• Holiday coverage required as needed

Active New York State RN License/Registration
BLS Certification
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Emergency Department experience (within the last 2 years)
Experience in an acute care hospital of similar size and acuity
Formal triage training required
Strong pediatric triage skills required
Travelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma centers
Preferred Qualifications

Level I Trauma Center experience
Level II Trauma Center experience
EPIC EMR experience
Additional Adult Emergency Department experience
Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive pediatric emergency nursing assessments.
Triage pediatric patients and prioritize care based on acuity.
Deliver emergency nursing care with minimal supervision.
Monitor and assess patient condition changes and intervene appropriately.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary emergency care teams.
Document patient care accurately within the EMR system.
Provide patient and family education and support during emergency visits.
