Head of Marketing & Business Strategy

Celgard, a subsidiary of the Asahi Kasei Group, is a global leader in high‑performance membrane technology for lithium‑ion batteries and specialty applications. We are looking for a strategic marketing professional to help grow our battery separator and specialty membrane business units in North America.

Celgard, LLC - wholly owned by Polypore International, LP, part of the Asahi Kasei Group.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing, the incumbent will champion the strategic marketing process and execute projects that drive sustainable sales revenue and margin growth in our battery separator and specialty membrane segments. Responsibilities include market research, business case development, customer engagement, and product launch support.

Strategic Marketing Projects

Lead projects for battery separators, textiles, filtration, packaging, medical devices, and specialty batteries.

Conceptualize and scope new projects for defined target markets.

Identify market opportunities and initiate projects with a balance of short‑ and long‑term returns.

Business Model and Product Development

Develop and manage roadmaps linked to target segments, customer needs, and willingness to pay.

Create go‑to‑market plans, including communication, branding, IP, and launch implementation with regional sales teams.

Apply hypothesis‑based learning to assess portfolio opportunities, risks, and cost.

Customer Account Management

Serve as day‑to‑day contact for an assigned group of North American customers, managing forecasts and operations.

Maintain excellent customer relations, including order processing, delivery, quality inquiries, and resolutions.

Track sales metrics and support commercial reporting.

Market Research and Communications

Conduct primary and secondary market intelligence and analysis with actionable outcomes.

Support potential M&A work.

Initiate and maintain Celgard external communications, including traditional marketing collateral and digital presence.

Bachelor’s degree required; BA/BS in engineering, marketing, or business, and an MBA preferred.

5+ years of strategic marketing experience in a B2B industrial or manufacturing environment.

Advanced analytical skills (stochastic modeling, conjoint analysis, linear regression, and related techniques).

Solid global business experience and deep understanding of customers.

Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Data‑driven analytical thinker with a common‑sense approach to execution.

Travel
Must be willing to travel up to 30% domestically and abroad for conferences and company locations.
