Schedule : 35–40 hours/week on average – must be available during regular business hours

Compensation : $65–$85/hour, DOE

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Contract Attorney to support a prestigious law firm client with a strong presence in the real estate development sector. This long-term W2 contract opportunity requires active North Carolina licensure and direct experience in homebuilding and residential real estate development.

Key Responsibilities Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, lot contracts, and closing documents for residential developments.

Review and resolve title and survey issues, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.

Prepare and revise homeowners association documents, easement agreements, and other development-related legal instruments.

Provide legal support for land acquisition, site development, and community governance structures.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth execution of real estate transactions.

Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency in contract language and legal documentation.

Advise on zoning, land use, and regulatory compliance matters relevant to residential construction and development.

Support legal operations related to property management, construction agreements, and real estate closings.

Qualifications

Active license to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing.

Minimum of 3+ years of US attorney experience in real estate law with a homebuilder or in a law firm serving residential developers.

Strong understanding of real estate contracts, development agreements, and community governance documents.

Ability to work independently and manage a consistent workload focused on real estate development matters.

Willingness to commit to a long-term engagement (initial 6-month term with strong potential for extension).

Must be located in or near Charlotte, NC, with availability for onsite requirements and a hybrid/remote schedule.

Candidates must not engage in concurrent legal work during the W2 contract period.

Pay Details: $65.00 to $85.00 per hour
