Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery.
The candidate must have experience working in a high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery environment.
The average daily census is 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month.
The role involves caring for mothers and newborns during delivery.
It is necessary for candidates to have experience circulating and providing care to newborns, including eye care and vitamin K injections.
Candidates must be familiar with electronic fetal monitoring, specifically with EPIC systems.
The work will require floating to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.
The nurse will function in the role of a Baby Nurse during deliveries and continue to care for the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
The ability to manage complications such as hemorrhage, shock, and high-risk deliveries is essential.
Charting and documentation will be performed using the EPIC system.
Candidates should have skills in lactation support, assessment of newborns, and management of antepartum complications.
Pre-approved time off will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, with the requirement to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
The environment is fast-paced, requiring strong critical thinking and nursing skills to handle various scenarios.
