Occupational Therapist - Elementary

Under the direction of the Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, the occupational therapist provides treatment to special education individual student educational programs. This job is responsible for individuals and groups to support specific areas of sensory-motor integration, and all functions of school based occupational therapy.

Understand school-based therapy and related assessment practices

Deliver occupational therapy services within an integrated therapies approach with ongoing consultation with therapists, classroom staff

Provide individual and group therapies for students in accordance with their IEPs.

Adheres to the adopted policies and procedures of the Bellingham School Committee.

Provides recommendations to regular and special education teachers on how to meet the needs of the child. Ability to gather data and interpret the data to assess interventions. Analyze student progress and make adjustments based on data.

Registered Occupational Therapist by National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.

Salary: Per The BTA Contract

You are required to be physically capable of escorting students from the building in case of a practice drill or emergency situation in a safe and timely fashion. Reports to: Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
