Licensed Vocational Nurse (PRN)

The Staff Licensed Vocational Nurse renders professional nursing care pursuant to the objective and policies of the Centre. Work is part time during the weekdays, some weekend coverage and on-call work required. Work is performed at the clinic with some work in the community and residential site. A staff LVN will work directly under the supervision of the Nursing Department Coordinator or staff RN’s but utilize all nursing skills to make safe, appropriate and independent decisions within the scope of the LVN nursing practice.
Shift: PRN, All shifts available
Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient.
Conducts visits at residential site to assess patient’s medical status, administer or supervise medication and perform treatment procedures. Assists with weekly and/or bi-monthly medical staffings.
Works on-call shifts as required. Keeps Nursing Department informed of all patient concerns and treatment course.
Performs toilet and chair transfers with assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques. Patients requiring moderate to maximum assistance are lifted and/or transferred by two or more persons.
Passion for Care : A deep understanding of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed, including the ability to communicate effectively with them.
Educational Background : Current licensure by State Board of Nursing.
Experience in skilled nursing and rehabilitation concepts preferred. Benefits Package for full-time status includes:
