Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse-Surgery

Role:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process, while maintaining professional accountability. They evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, uphold patient rights, and ensure confidentiality, aligning with organizational standards.

Responsibilities:

Care for adult patients on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit managing diverse diagnoses such as pneumonia, sepsis, chronic conditions, and post-operative recovery. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, administering treatments, wound care, pain management, monitoring for complications, and collaborating with healthcare teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Graduated from an accredited nursing program (associate's, diploma, or BSN)

Current RN licensure in the applicable state or compact license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, or TNCC may be required based on unit needs

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, reach, bend, and perform other physical tasks

Key Duties:

Deliver patient care, evaluate outcomes, support patient rights and confidentiality, and work effectively within a team to ensure quality healthcare delivery.
