CNC Machinist For Aerospace And Defense

CNC Machinist PGS Worldwide is seeking a CNC Machinist in Palmdale, CA for a one-year onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The CNC Machinist will support tooling operations by setting up and operating milling machines to perform complex machining work to exact tolerances. This role includes planning machining sequences, selecting tooling and attachments, interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications, and verifying quality using precision measuring instruments. The position requires CNC mill experience, CNC lathe experience, and MCAM programming experience.

Ability to perform machining operations involving compound angles, contours, angular holes, helical and spiral milling, serrating, gear cutting, spline cutting, and keyway cutting.

Ability to plan sequence of operations, number of cuts, and method of setup.

Ability to determine, set, and adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.

Experience using machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Live tooling experience for CNC lathes.

Perform machining operations to exacting tolerances.

Plan machining operations and determine setup methods.

Adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for required machining work.

Lay out stock for machining using reference points and dimensions.

Monitor and verify quality according to control procedures.

Support tooling operations in a machine shop environment.

Work Schedule / Shift

10% travel.

61.96 per hour
