Math Teacher High School - Part Time

Position: Core - High School Math Teacher (Tuesdays & Thursdays)

Time Status: Part-time, 10 months, Tuesday and Thursday

This Core Teacher plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, Christ-centered education to students, focusing on Math subjects, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Statistics. Develop and execute well-structured, Biblically-integrated lesson plans for high school math that support deep understanding and spiritual growth.

Implement a learner-centered math curriculum with a willingness and ability to adapt instruction to meet student needs, promoting conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.

Plan and facilitate intentional scaffolding to build student confidence and mastery through incremental steps.

Incorporate real-world applications of math to help students see the relevance of mathematical thinking in everyday life and God’s design.

Adapt teaching methods to accommodate a diverse range of learners.

Utilize technology and innovative teaching tools to enhance instruction and support active, engaged learning.

Foster a positive and inviting classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, collaboration, and meaningful engagement with mathematical content.

Establish and maintain a conducive learning environment by managing the classroom effectively and implementing CHESS policies consistently.

Assist students with questions, assignments, and coursework to facilitate their understanding and love of math.

Uphold and promote the school's policies, procedures, and academic standards with consistency and grace.

Provide supervision of students during indoor or outdoor recess and/or lunch activities, ensuring the students’ safety and adherence to school rules.

Assist in the orderly dismissal of students as needed, maintaining a secure and organized transition from the classroom to car line.

Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure continuity and support across subjects and grade levels.

Be punctual and reliable, arriving on time for assigned classes and adhering to the school’s schedule.

Continuously improve one's teaching skills and stay informed on educational trends, particularly in math instruction and high school development.

Participate in professional development activities and contribute to a culture of Contagious Learning within the school.

Complete any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by school administration to support the educational process.

Born again” Christian with an active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Faithfully attends and supports a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with the CHESS Statement of Beliefs.

Agree with, support, and abide by the CHESS Christian School Statement of Beliefs, Lifestyle Statement, and Educational Philosophy.

4-year degree from a college, university, or Bible college.

Specific expertise in the subject area of math.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to and support a learner-centered math curriculum.

Able to supervise students during outdoor recess in various weather conditions, including the heat and cold.

Technological proficiency in educational tools and platforms.

Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting.
