Travel RRT - ICU - Respiratory Therapy

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III trauma teaching hospital.

Job Details

• Work within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department at a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital,
• Facility has 733 staffed beds,
• Care for both adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00,
• Every other weekend required,
• Weekend and holiday coverage required,
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units and to sister campus depending on booking,
• No on-call requirement,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Solid black or black and white scrubs required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• State or compact RRT licensure required (license required if applicable),
• Pending license not accepted,
• Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients,
• Advanced EKG exam required as part of compliance for RT specialty,
• At least 1 supervisor reference required,
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration,
• No background or license hits within the last year,
• Background check and license hits from within the last year will not be approved,

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy duties within a fast-paced trauma and teaching hospital environment,
• Maximum of 4 days RTO allowed, with no holiday RTO accepted,
• Only 1 holiday may be approved for time off,
• Call-off policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment before hours are no longer guaranteed,
• Missed shifts due to callout will require a makeup shift as determined by the department,
• Night shift travelers may extend their contract up to twice; after reaching extension limits, a 6-month wait is required before reapplying,
• Previous travelers must have been gone for at least 1 year to return in a travel role,
• System has a 2 contract limit before requiring a 6-month break to return,
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus,
• Vaccine exemption requests must be submitted promptly, as candidates cannot start with a pending approval,
• Pre-start modules may be required, ranging from 4-10 hours
