Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
36 hours per week, Day shifts (12-hour), from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Job Description
An Urgent Need for a Registered Respiratory Therapist is calling for immediate applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in respiratory therapy and be prepared to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Gather and evaluate patient information both from interviews and data sources.
Develop appropriate care plans based on comprehensive assessments.
Identify and address variations in patient conditions and take necessary actions.
Plan, provide, and evaluate patient teaching and education.
Administer respiratory and oxygen therapy treatments following established guidelines.
Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators, including BIPAP and CPAP units.
Perform diagnostic tests, including ABGs, pulse oximetry, and EKGs.
Educate patients on cardiopulmonary medication and equipment usage.
Implement and monitor components of the VAP bundle.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credentials by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of Massachusetts.
ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
Prior experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
