Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license, prior travel experience, and Epic charting proficiency.

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6
• Epic EMR required for charting
• 11-week contract assignment

Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required and in hand at time of consideration
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic charting experience required
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring (unit and remote)
Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, and heparin protocols
Knowledge of wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols
Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE use
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiovascular, orthopedic, and post-MI cases
Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed for patient emergencies
No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
