The Engineer II Software Automation is responsible for developing executing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks and infrastructure for complex distributed systems including microservice-based software platforms on-prem and cloud deployments and the in-house and third-party devices they integrate with. This role is a key technical contributor within the Systems Test Engineering organization developing automation solutions that improve test efficiency reliability repeatability and coverage.
The position reports to the Sr Manager Systems Software Test and is part of the Software Test Engineering department located in Irvine CA and will be an on-site role.
Develop execute and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and support infrastructure for instrument and system-level testing.
Develop reusable test libraries device interfaces protocol libraries utilities and common automation components across instrument platforms and downstream system integrations.
Contribute to system and product test strategies with an emphasis on automation repeatability scalability and maintainability.
Degree in computer science computer engineering software engineering biomedical engineering or related technical discipline.
~3 years of experience in software development test automation software verification or a related engineering discipline working with automated testing tools and scripting languages (Python C# C Java or similar).

Experience with Git CI/CD systems and modern software development practices.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience within the medical device or other regulated industry.
Familiarity with IEC 62304 ISO 13485 FDA Quality System Regulation or other applicable software quality standards.
HL7 WCTP) or other structured data/protocol formats.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and container/orchestration tooling (e.g. This job is also eligible for up to a 10% annual bonus.
