SPECIAL HAZARDS ESTIMATOR

Under the direction of the Estimating Manager, the Special Hazards Estimator will primarily support the Construction Department with estimating and sales, which includes: sales pipeline development and maintenance, internal and external communication, bid and scope clarification, providing a proposal, and sales bookings.

Meet with potential clients on a regular basis, both in office and at project walks

Exhibit a continued commitment in pursuit of new customers by scheduling sales calls, following up on leads and utilizing market strategies

Receives and reviews requests for proposals or invitations to bid directly from customers, bid boards, or other means

Generates sales or opportunities through customer outreach or other means

Records, updates, and monitors quotes via company policies, bid logs, and CRM, as appropriate (Salesforce)

Utilizes the most updated estimator workbook or estimating tool when preparing quote

Provides a layout of special hazards system/components via company procedures, which may involve a paper or digital layout

Identifies and qualifies scope per bid documents, job walks, or local requirements

Communicate quotes or proposals directly with customer via phone and/or email

Documents conversations and activity per company procedures

Coordinates multiple scopes to produce one proposal to customer when appropriate

Updates and monitors the Bid Log for all projects

Conduct job site surveys to ensure the accuracy of the estimate, as needed

Prepares assigned reports needed for invoicing (Customer set up sheet)

Promotes a positive ongoing relationship with customers and end users

Demonstrates effective communication skills when interacting with all internal and external customers

High School diploma or GED required

Higher education degree or equivalent work experience preferred

NICET Level II or III in Fire Alarm and/or Special Hazards highly needed and preferred

Work Experience

Extensive knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems is required.

3+ Years of fire system sales experience preferred

Fire Alarm and/or Special Hazards design experience is preferred
