Position Summary
The Senior Living Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and well-balanced meals for residents while following established menus, food-safety standards, and dietary requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to planned menus.
• Follow residents’ special diets, allergies, and food preferences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Prepare food in appropriate portions and ensure meals are served on time.
• Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs to the supervisor.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen and senior living staff.
• Provide courteous and respectful service to residents.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or institutional food service is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and equipment as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
