Description
American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a day shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- ICU unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts with variable 0700 or 1900 start times
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Epic charting system preferred
- Skills needed include respiratory/thoracic care, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, post craniotomy, post neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- May float between sister facilities near the contracted location
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact accepted) required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, may include Charge RNs/Leads
- Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
Additional Information
- Responsible for direct patient care within the ICU, including ventilator management and assisting with chest tube procedures
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered for the local rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Adherence to infection prevention protocols, including isolation precautions and PPE use, is required
- Travelers must be flexible with floating requirements between sister facilities as needed
