Our client, a highly respected construction and real estate law firm, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in construction law who enjoys handling sophisticated transactional matters, complex litigation, and advising clients on risk management strategies.

The firm represents owners, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and other construction industry professionals in high-profile matters throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Summary

The Associate Attorney will manage a diverse caseload involving construction litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and legal counseling. This role offers a hybrid work environment and the opportunity to collaborate with an experienced legal team on complex and challenging matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, design agreements, and related project documentation.
• Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Advise clients on construction law issues, contract interpretation, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop effective legal strategies and practical business solutions.
• Maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional legal service.

Qualifications

Required

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New York or New Jersey and in good standing.
• 5–9 years of experience practicing construction law.
• Experience handling construction litigation and drafting complex construction-related agreements.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Client-focused mindset with outstanding communication skills.

Preferred

• Extensive experience representing construction industry clients.
• Experience with mediation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Former prosecutors, Assistant District Attorneys, or Corporation Counsel with significant litigation and trial experience seeking to transition into construction law are encouraged to apply.

Additional Information

• Full-time position
• Salary: $120,000–$180,000 , depending on experience
• Occasional travel may be required
• Relocation assistance is not available
