Infection Preventionist

Qualifications Required Education: Baccalaureate degree in: Nursing Public Health Epidemiology Clinical laboratory science Medical Technology Another related medical field. Required Experience: Two (2) years of relevant infection prevention and control experience. Preferred Experience: Two (2) years acute care hospital experience. Required Certification/License/Registry: Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act). Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) credential from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) within two (2) years post-hire. Preferred Certification/License/Registry: Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act). CIC credential from the CBIC at hire. Responsibilities Job Summary: Is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. Collaborates with teams and individuals to create and sustain infection prevention strategies and provide feedback.
