Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This is a float position requiring candidates to possess competence in at least two of the following specialty areas:

• ICU: Minimum 2 years ICU experience required.
• Med/Surg/Tele: Minimum 1 year experience required.
• Emergency Department (ED): Minimum 2 years ED experience required; triage experience is necessary, and charge nurse experience is preferred.

General Details

• Position involves bedside patient care.
• Epic experience is mandatory.
• Regular shifts are required every other weekend and every other holiday.

Unit Description

ICU

• 16-bed ICU and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC).
• Average daily census: 8 patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2 for ICU, 1:3 for IMC.

Med/Surg/Tele Units

• 32-bed units (4 North, 4 South, SSU).
• Average daily census: 17-22 patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 (1:6 during surgical staffing) with support from nursing assistants.
• Additional assistance from a lightly assigned Charge Nurse (1:2 patient ratio).

Emergency Department (ED)

• 23 monitored bed unit.
• Average daily census: 70-100 patients across all age groups.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 (1:5 during surgical staffing) with support from nursing assistants.
• Additional support provided by an unassigned Charge Nurse and a dedicated triage nurse.

• NIHSS
