A unique opportunity for a Staff Pharmacist is available in Sitka, Alaska, at a hospital operated by a regional health consortium. Position Details:

• Location: Sitka, Alaska
• Start Date: September 21, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:30 AM to 6:30 PM), including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate prescriptions for appropriateness, legality, contraindications, interactions, and completeness
• Communicate with prescribers to resolve questions before dispensing medication
• Document clinical activities, enter prescriptions into pharmacy software, and verify finished orders promptly
• Counsel patients clearly on medication regimens and ensure understanding
• Conduct chart reviews for refills and medication therapy management, making recommendations and requesting refills as appropriate
• Provide drug information and clinical consultation, educate staff, and direct pharmacy technician activities
• Participate in quality control and improvement initiatives
• Engage in health promotion and disease prevention related to drug therapy
• Support pharmacy-run clinics as needed

Required Qualifications:

• PharmD degree or Bachelor of Pharmacy (for those licensed before 2003 with three years hospital/ambulatory experience)
• Active, unrestricted Alaska Pharmacist License (mandatory due to fingerprint processing timeline)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
• ASHP residency completion preferred
