Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Worker

Newark ,NJ

1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

1-hour unpaid lunch

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of campus grounds and outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, trimming, edging, trash removal, recycling, leaf removal, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, mulching, and watering
• Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed
• Perform topsoil installation, grading, and establish lawns from seed and sod
• Operate walk-behind power equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, and trimmers
• Perform snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and snow plows
• Install and maintain items such as street signs, poles, parking bumpers, trash containers, and snow fences
• Set up and break down equipment for special events (bleachers, chairs, platforms, etc.)

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform general groundskeeping and landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, pruning, and watering.
• Experience using walk-behind power equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, and trimmers.
• Capability to perform snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and snow vehicles or plows.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, with occasional indoor work as required.
• Experience with cleaning and maintenance of parking decks and lots.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $16.22 - $17.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Newark,NJ.
