Clerk Driver

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Clerk Driver to support the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Senior Affairs. Under direct supervision of the Division Director, the Clerk Driver drives and services a motorized vehicle for the purpose of transporting supplies, materials, and/or passengers.

Workweek: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM

Salary: $53,560.00 - $58,602.44. Based on qualifications and experience. Competitive Jersey City retirement and health benefits package available, including pension, dental, medical, prescription, FSA (flexible spending account), life insurance, and more.

Job Duties

• Transport seniors to and from scheduled field and shopping trips.
• Monitor and report bus maintenance needs.
• Maintain passenger attendance records and complete required reports.
• May perform minor periodic vehicle maintenance services such as washing, polishing, changing tires, and checking and replenishing gas, oil, water, and batteries.
• Arranges the delivery, storage, and pickup of supplies to and from assigned destinations.
• Picks up and delivers parts, supplies, and/or other materials to and from assigned destinations.
• Loads and unloads supplies and other materials.
• Maintains records, inventory, and files.
• May be responsible for the order and maintenance of a garage.
• May perform other routine clerical work.
• Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Required Licenses:

• Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
• Appointees may be required to possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and applicable endorsements for the class and type of vehicle being operated.
