Senior Manager, HR Business Partner

About the Role We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, HR Business Partner to join our HR team and partner with the Senior Vice President of our RiverSource Insurance and Annuities business. In this role you will implement HR strategies that align with our business needs, build strong and influential relationships with business leaders, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR‑related matters. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic advisor to the Senior Vice President of RiverSource, embedding HR strategy directly into key business decisions and planning. Elevate leadership impact through targeted coaching and guide leaders through complex, sensitive employee matters in partnership with HR COEs. Anticipate and surface human capital trends that influence business performance, driving decisive action using data, market insights, and leading practices. Partner across COEs to shape and deliver people strategy behind critical initiatives and corporate development efforts impacting RiverSource. Act as a trusted partner to the SVP on complex organizational changes, leading through transformation with clarity and confidence, assessing impact of evolving strategies on workforce effectiveness, and driving seamless implementation during high‑stakes events such as mergers and acquisitions. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 7+ years of Human Resources experience. Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to reduce administrative work and enable higher‑value, strategic contributions. Lifelong learner who stays current on HR trends, practices, and emerging innovations. Trusted advisor with strong relationship management, coaching, and influencing skills; proven ability to partner with senior leaders to drive enterprise priorities. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of Human Resources experience, with depth supporting complex, matrixed, and/or global organizations. Strong business acumen and a data‑driven, solutions‑oriented mindset, with the ability to translate strategy and insights into practical HR outcomes. Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate, and partner effectively across functions and geographies using a consultative approach to build alignment and drive results. Proven track record of navigating ambiguity and organizational complexity, exercising sound judgment, ownership, and accountability to deliver strategic outcomes. Invests in talent by developing others, fostering collaboration, and elevating team performance. Compensation and Benefits The estimated base salary for this role is $107,000 - $147,100 per year. Compensation may vary based on experience, job‑related knowledge, and geographic location. Most roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives.
