Position Details Title: RN, Supervisor Location: Fountain Valley, CA – Orange Coast Medical Center Department: Surgical Status: Full Time Shift: Nights (12hrs) Pay Range: $60.18/hr - $94.49/hr Position Summary This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The clinical supervisor is the front‑line supervisor responsible for coordinating operations of the patient care department during their assigned shift, ensuring patient flow, staff scheduling, budget, and unit supplies. Accountability for participation in evaluation processes, staff development and retention, and process improvement to achieve high quality, cost‑effective, patient‑centered care. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job Utilize nursing process, evidence‑based practice, policies and procedures, and practice standards for unit operations management. Demonstrate leadership in high‑stress situations. Model an interdisciplinary approach and collaborate with healthcare team members to achieve optimal operational efficiency. Promote advancement of the nursing profession (e.g., certification, education, Nurse Leadership Academy). Demonstrate coordination and collaboration of patient‑centered care across the continuum. Create a supportive, healthy, positive work environment through clinical and administrative leadership. Foster employee engagement and lead by example, inspiring loyalty. Embrace Lean mindset and utilize PDSA performance improvement model. Participate in shared‑governance teams/councils/committees for improving unit/system operations. Conduct crucial conversations when coaching employees to foster clinical improvement through effective feedback. Foster a culture of safety by assessing and applying appropriate interventions and evaluating effectiveness. Promote an environment supporting and enhancing the patient and family experience. Ensure accountability to achieve financial targets through daily personnel management alignment with patient census. Participate in activities supporting organizational excellence and growth, such as Magnet initiatives and Lean processes. Teach, mentor, coach, delegate, and supervise healthcare team members in nursing procedures and processes with a focus on safety and competence. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights and maintain confidentiality of sensitive material in all forms. Be punctual and present at work. Follow company policies, procedures, and directives. Interact positively and constructively. Prioritize and multitask effectively. Minimum Requirements Qualifications / Work Experience 2+ years acute care experience in Telemetry. Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Education / Licensure / Certification Current California RN License required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required (RN Supervisors hired before 2013 do not require a degree). Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card required. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card preferred. Benefits Pay range: $60.18/hr - $94.49/hr.
