Shipping & Receiving ClerkPay: $20–$23/hour Shift: 1st ShiftAbout the RoleWe are hiring an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities in a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate shipping documentation, coordinating carrier schedules, managing dock activity, processing warehouse system transactions, and ensuring materials are shipped and received accurately and on time.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with computers and warehouse systems, and able to communicate effectively with customers, carriers, drivers, forklift operators, and internal operations teams.This is a hands-on coordination role where accuracy and communication are critical to keeping daily warehouse and shipping operations running smoothly.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily shipping and receiving activities and prioritiesPrepare and maintain Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipment records, and receiving documentationEnter and maintain accurate transactions in warehouse or inventory systems, including receipts, shipments, inventory movements, and confirmationsVerify part numbers, quantities, labels, customer information, trailer numbers, and shipment destinations before releasing shipmentsMaintain the daily shipping and receiving scheduleCoordinate carrier appointments, pickup and delivery times, and dock assignmentsCommunicate with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, changes, and requirementsProvide clear daily direction to forklift operators regarding:Material to be loaded or unloadedTrailer or truck assignmentsDock-door assignmentsLoading and unloading prioritiesCustomer-specific requirementsMonitor loading activities to prevent incorrect material, quantities, trailers, or destinationsEnsure outbound shipments are accurate and complete before trucks are releasedCoordinate incoming materials to ensure they are properly received, identified, staged, and communicated to the appropriate teamCommunicate with customer sites regarding shipment schedules, delivery requirements, shortages, changes, and urgent requestsRespond quickly to expedited shipments and changing customer requirementsMaintain accurate records of truck arrivals, departures, dock activity, and completed shipmentsInvestigate shipping, receiving, inventory, and system discrepanciesEscalate missed shipments, shortages, damages, incorrect materials, and transportation issues promptlyWork with warehouse leadership to ensure appropriate forklift coverage and manpower based on the daily scheduleMaintain an organized and professional shipping and receiving officeFollow all safety, quality, customer, and warehouse proceduresQualificationsPrevious shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing experienceExperience with shipping and receiving documentation, including BOLs and packing listsExperience using a warehouse management system (WMS), ERP, or inventory systemStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and time-management skillsAbility to prioritize multiple shipments and changing schedulesStrong communication skills with customers, carriers, drivers, and warehouse personnelAbility to give clear direction to forklift operators and coordinate dock activityBasic computer skills and ability to learn new systemsAbility to identify and resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepanciesPrevious forklift or warehouse equipment experience is a plusHigh school diploma or GED preferredWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is someone who can keep shipments moving, communicate clearly, and catch errors before they become problems.
