Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk will be primarily responsible for managing desk work and scheduling shipments, ensuring all outbound shipments are processed efficiently and accurately. This role involves utilizing Bills of Lading to maintain the shipping department's efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Process all outbound shipments using Bills of Lading and label shipment items with PRO numbers as needed.
• Schedule daily trucks for shipments.
• Maintain, file, and record prior days' shipments.
• Maintain daily shipping metrics for the department.
• Screen all trucking personnel before granting access to the property.
• Maintain communication with the order department to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience as a Receiving Clerk.
• Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Proficiency in computer usage.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP ERP systems.
• Experience with Bills of Lading and labeling shipments.
• Stable work history with at least 1+ year at each job.

• Forklift operation.

Work Environment

Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position involves working in a shipping department with a focus on efficiency and accuracy, utilizing technologies such as SAP ERP systems and Microsoft Office. The role may require interaction with trucking personnel and maintaining communication with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

This is a Contract position based out of Ferndale, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
