The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses risks, promotes wellness, prevents injury, and protects employees from exposure to work-related or environmental hazards. This will include providing occupational health and injury management advice, support, and direction to enable successful resolution of work injury and health related issues.We are currently staffing for a PRN Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will provide coverage during weeks when FT Registered Nurses on site need time off. Weekend shifts offered as well.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding first aid to employees who are injured or ill.Evaluating an employee's health and providing an initial diagnosis of medical conditionsUse the Electronic Medical Records Systems as required and ensure accuracy and maintenance of medical records.Monitor the status of Project personnel hospitalized in regional facilities.Educate employers, workers, and employees regarding preventing and controlling workplace injury and illness.Meets health and safety standards to reduce work-related injuries.Performing wound care, such as cleaning and bandagingDrawing blood, urine samples, and other body fluids for lab work; provides immunizations to employees.Determines and communicates Fitness for Work and trains others in the provision of this service including the following: case management of injury/illness, routine and nonroutine travel preparation, and occupational evaluations.Performs, analyzes, and evaluates Health Screening data to identify possible workplace exposures as required by global Medical and Occupational Health (MOH) and applicable local laws and regulations. Makes recommendations to management based on individual and worker group results. Would also be training others to provide this service.Coordinates and conducts Alcohol and Drug Use (ADU) testing services, vision and hearing tests as needed.Actively participates in MOH and Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) committees, projects, and initiatives.Manages clinic resources effectively and appropriately.Administers triage system.Facilitates and coordinates required lab work and diagnostic testing or medical imaging requirement.Ensures that all medical equipment is in working order and properly maintained.Establishes and manages a monthly equipment checklist register.Establishes and manages the asset register.Establishes and manages the equipment maintenance and calibration schedule.Makes weekly inventory of drugs, equipment, and consumables.Coordinates stocking and control of medications and medical supplies.Ensures medications and supplies are properly stored and within use by dates.Inspects and accepts shipments of medications and supplies.Maintains a controlled drug register in compliance with all applicable laws.Carries out safe standards of nursing care according to legislation, Standard Operating Project policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills and KnowledgeRequired Skills and KnowledgeCompletion of an accredited registered nurse programRequired CompetenciesPossess the critical skills and relevant current training to deliver emergency and routine medical care.Be current and certified in Advanced Life Support protocols.Required Work ExperienceMinimum 3 years of emergency/urgent care experienceOccupational Medicine experience (preferred)Mental Health/First Aid InstructorRequired QualificationsValid Louisiana RN licenseACLSBLSRequired LanguagesExcellent written and oral EnglishBy joining International SOS, you will contribute to a global network dedicated to protecting people and organizations.
