Job Description
Cardiovascular/Cardiac ICU RN

Schedule

36-hour blocks; rotating day/night shifts. Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts required. Rotating holidays.

Assignment Details

Typical daily census of 28-30 beds; approximately 28 beds capacity.

Requirements

• 2 years of cardiac ICU/CVICU experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Epic experience required.
• Ability to manage complex cardiac and cardiothoracic diagnoses, including post-cardiac surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to adult patients in the cardiovascular ICU setting.
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, including invasive line management and interpretation of hemodynamic data.
• Administer medications, including titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips.
• Perform invasive procedures such as central/PICC line placement and management of temporary pacemakers.
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team for complex post-operative patients.
• Utilize advanced cardiac support technologies such as ECMO, VADs, and CRRT.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required. Valid state or compact RN license needed at the time of submission. Urgent fingerprinting required immediately after booking.
